Dog park basics
Most dog parks have a double gate. Take the leash off inside the second gate, not in the entry area, so dogs can greet without feeling trapped.
If your dog is small or shy, look for parks with a separate small dog area and try a quiet time first. Early mornings and weekday middays are usually calmer than evenings.

Dog park questions
How do I find a dog park near me?
Enter your city or ZIP code in the search above. We list 4,835 dog parks across 51 states, each with directions and what else the park offers.
Are dog parks fenced?
847 of the dog parks we list are mapped as fenced. Many more are, but the fence is not on the map yet. Each dog park page shows what we know.
What do I need to bring to a dog park?
Water for your dog, waste bags and a leash for the way in and out. Many cities ask for current vaccinations and a dog license, and some parks need a permit. The sign at the gate has the rules.
Where does the list come from?
From OpenStreetMap, where volunteers and city staff map parks and what is in them. Coverage is better in some cities than others. If a dog park is missing, use our suggestion form and we add it.
