Frequently asked questions
Where is an inclusive playground in Minnesota?
Madison's Place in Woodbury is one of 14 inclusive or sensory playgrounds we list in Minnesota. Others are in Minneapolis, Richfield, Roseville and Burnsville.
How many wheelchair-accessible playgrounds are in Minnesota?
28 in our data: 14 inclusive, 11 wheelchair accessible, 3 partly accessible. Not every accessible playground in Minnesota is marked on the map, so local parks departments may know more.
Do Minnesota playgrounds have to be ADA accessible?
Public playgrounds built or rebuilt since March 2012 have to meet the 2010 ADA Standards, in Minnesota as everywhere in the US. Older ones only have to comply when they are altered, so a quick check with the city parks department is worth it.
