Frequently asked questions
Where is an inclusive playground in Ohio?
Inclusive Playground at Blendon Woods Metro Park in Westerville is one of 14 inclusive or sensory playgrounds we list in Ohio. Others are in Beachwood, Elyria, Bay Village and Eastlake.
How many wheelchair-accessible playgrounds are in Ohio?
39 in our data: 14 inclusive, 21 wheelchair accessible, 4 partly accessible. Not every accessible playground in Ohio is marked on the map, so local parks departments may know more.
Do Ohio playgrounds have to be ADA accessible?
Public playgrounds built or rebuilt since March 2012 have to meet the 2010 ADA Standards, in Ohio as everywhere in the US. Older ones only have to comply when they are altered, so a quick check with the city parks department is worth it.
